STEP (.stp) 3D CAD file format

The CAD files are saved in the STEP (.stp) file format. That is an export/import file format recognized by all solid modeling programs.
After importing a step file into your software program, you can save it in the format of your program.
This allows you to build your own 3D CAD library with parts made by different software programs.

Programs that work excellent together with step files include: Autodesk Inventor, Solidworks, Fusion 360, Catia, Solid Edge.

Main dimensions according to the European Standards

The installation length and the dimensions of the flanges are specified in the European Standards DIN-EN. This means that this valve can be used in European (EN) standardized piping systems as well as in the DIN versions. This is because the European Standards for flanges correspond to the (older) DIN standards in terms of installation dimensions.

Facts about globe valves

  • A globe valve is used to stop, start and regulate flow in a pipeline. Globe valves are also known as throttle valves.
  • Compared to gate valves, globe valves are designed to open and close more quickly, but they also have a slightly higher pressure drop rating than gate valves.
  • A globe valve is easy to maintain and all parts are easily accessible.
  • In terms of weight, globe valves are generally heavier than other valves with the same pressure rating.
  • The price of a globe valve is higher than a gate- or ball valve in the same materials, but these valves are only suitable to stop or start a flow.
  • In situations where a flow needs to be adjusted regurarly, a globe valve is probably the best choice.
